The Voice Search competition started as a community initiative in Mitchells Plain. The competition has been a public platform for local talent from as young as 6 in the junior category to the more senior stars in the over 35 category. Not only was the event designed to deliver a signature experience in the Mitchells Plain community but it was also used to boost community pride by properly empowering unsigned raw talent. In its basic design the event is a 100% local talent contest that culminates in professionally staged performances by the community.
